Tableau de Ciel…

“Tableau du Ciel”….
What am I talking about?  Keep reading and you will find out!!

‘Sweet’ by RSVP-to-me has done it again!  We were given an event that was Paris themed and were told to simply create magic. Well…we think we created more than magic…we created a masterpiece.  So much so, that it was featured in 201 Family Magazine – March 2014 issue!

What did we put together for our edible version of Paris? Our table of sweet treats included yellow cake cupcakes with light pink frosting as the base to our delicate chocolate Eiffel Towers; white chocolate mousse drizzled with raspberry sauce and topped with fresh raspberries (to die for!); beautifully decorated and iced sugar cookies in the shape of Eiffel towers, as well as scalloped circles perfectly stacked with black satin ribbon embellishment.  The cake pops came in two flavors: yellow cake and red velvet – all neatly wrapped with a custom tag by RSVP to me that carried through motif of the day. Ice cream cone cupcakes, raspberry shortbread and a two-tiered plate of macaroons that did not last 5 minutes into the party completed this delectable dessert table!

The table decor included fabulous mercury silver candelabras, hydrangeas in French creamers, and gorgeous metal replicas of the Eiffel Tower. The table was backdropped by gorgeous white lacing curtains which hung beautifully behind two gorgeous antique frames that were custom painted to match the pink party, with the mirrors striped black to match the black Eiffel Towers.

I saved the best for last…the breath-taking 3-tier black and white cake. It was accented with 3 gorgeous bright pink flowers and black and white striped candles completed the base of the cake.  With another Eiffel Tower standing tall on the top, it framed out the cake, leaving the prize of the cake for all to see, “Baby Ruby” scrolled across the 2nd tier of the cake let everyone know just why they were all there.

This table was a personal favorite of mine and cannot wait to see what they come up for Ruby’s 1st birthday party!
Tableau du Ciel…what was I talking about?  “Table of Heaven”, never will there be a more perfect envision of edible heaven!

A HUGE thank you for all the treats to Hudson Valley Cakery of Valley Cottage, NY, Didier Dumas of Nyack, NY and Hudson Cakery of Weehawken, NJ.

A Very Special Mermaid Celebration

It is not very often I am given the opportunity to share with everyone a dessert table that is so personal and not just near my heart, but from my heart! This table was designed and set up to celebrate my gorgeous little angel Remy turning 1 year old. Because the party was such a huge part of my heart, I refused to fall into the cookie-cutter 1st Birthday party ideas.  Pulled out the list and ran through it many times. Barbie Party…nope! American Girl party…no way! Dora the Explorer…I think not! I turned to the professionals on this one, my 5 year old son. With my expertise and his endless imagination, we came up with a fun unique idea, Mermaid/Sea themed 1st Birthday party for our little Remy.

I spared no details on this one!  I teamed up with a frequently used vendor, Hudson Valley Cakery, we worked and slaved over ideas for Remy’s dessert table. After kicking around ideas, themes, colors and which of the millions of amazing options available from Hudson Valley Cakery, we painfully narrowed it down to 1/2 dozen of our favorite featured desserts.

As you can see in the pictures, we have a final product that is nothing shy of edible heaven! From the decadent cream filled sugar cookies turned into “Oyster Cookies”, to the “Starfish” sugar cookies and Cake Pops, we supplied Remy’s guests with an array of ocean desserts that brought them begging for more.

With a beautiful satin streamer backdrop, Remy’s two-tier cake was the star of the show!  The flawless ruffles of the ocean water, to the shiny rich pearls brought the base of the cake to life. The seashells and coral that wrapped the second tier helped bring her cake to a climatic finish with a proud “1” to show all of our guests how big our little Mermaid was that day.

I apologize that as you read this, you are unable to sense the happiness and pride that is beaming from my heart to the keys as I type this blog for you all to read, but I do thank you for taking the time to allow me to showcase the many talents that were brought together to make this dessert table the masterpiece that it had become.  A HUGE thank you to all the ladies that helped and make this possible!!  You know who you are!! 😉
Oyster cookies wouldn’t be the same without that perfect chocolate pink pearl!!

Chocolate and vanilla cake pops decorated with glitter sugar – YUM!

Rock Candy Sticks in water pearls went over ‘SWIMMINGLY’!

PERFECTLY decorated starfish sugar cookies – another huge hit!

To ensure each Sea-goer did not leave soggy and unhappy, each party goer was given a Diver’s bag of treasures to spoil themselves at home with.  Topped to the gills with candy and sealed with burlap and Remy’s seal of approval.
