At RSVP to me, every invitation, announcement, and thank you note that we create is unique and custom-designed. Still, we keep our finger on the pulse of the trends lighting up the stationery industry to ensure we are bringing our clients inspired influence, modern materials, and insightful guidance. What follows are five trends we’ve been watching on the horizon that have finally dropped.
Since we have all been living in a virtual world since March, how amazing would it feel to receive a tangible invitation, announcement, or save the date card in the mail that is adorned with texture? Think sparkling glitter, rustic twine, coarse burlap, silky ribbon, or speckled with jewels. We love the idea of showcasing your event with embellishments that are entirely extra at a time when we’re all feeling distanced and isolated.
Receiving an elegant, formal invitation in the mail is an exciting moment. When you hold the envelope in your hands and wonder what news is wrapped up on the inside, you experience the thrill of anticipation. Vellum envelopes heighten that moment by giving you the tiniest sneak peek as to what lies inside. You might not be able to read the printed details, but you can see the vibrant colors and ephemeral script that portends significant news. For this reason, and the fact that it looks modern and lavish, we love the current trend of wrapping wedding invitations in romantic vellum.
2020 Pantone Color of the Year: Classic Blue
What we love about this year’s color of the year is that it fits in nearly any possible wedding theme. Classic blue is perfect for nautical themes, beach themes, barn weddings in big sky country, and even icy winter weddings. We love seeing pops of classic blue in belly bands, envelopes, adornments, and text. It’s also perfect for birthdays, newborn babies, graduations, anniversaries, and bachelorette parties. The opportunities to incorporate this color are seemingly endless.
2020 has not quite been a year of bright cheerfulness. We could all use something to make us smile, so why not announce your wedding or special event on stationery dripping with bold, almost tangible blooms in bright colors and complemented by greens of jade and peridot? This trend offers limitless personalization options too. Is your wedding theme best represented by wispy wildfires, romantic, deep red roses, or friendly daisies? Anything is possible, and it’s all gorgeous and refined when you wrap your announcement in a floral bouquet.
Gold flourishes, adornments, and text have been on trend and on point for a while, but they are exploding onto the scene this summer. Alfred Lord Tennyson once said, “Love is the only gold.” Since couples began slipping gold bands onto their fingers during their vows, we have associated this precious metal with the adoration that only comes from true love. For this reason, gold simply feels appropriate when announcing the coupling of two soulmates. What we also love is applying the same association with life’s other momentous occasions, such as anniversaries and new bundles of joy, which is why we are seeing gold foil popping up in stationery associated with a wide variety of events and announcements.
At RSVP to me, we’ll watch the trends so that when we meet to plan your custom announcement or invitations, we can collaborate on a design that is modern and unique. To schedule a consultation with us, contact us today.
