“I am thrilled to be recognized alongside other innovative, creative, and trendsetting leaders in the stationery space,” said Adams. “Receiving this recognition fuels my drive to continue bringing my clients the most beautiful, modern, and unique stationery solutions, candy buffets, and customizable products for all of life’s special events.”
Founding RSVP to me
In early 2006, Kelly Samm Adams began a long and unsuccessful search to find perfect
wedding invitations for her upcoming nuptials— invitations that would absolutely “wow” her guests. Kelly was looking for something non-traditional, yet elegant; unusual, but not over the top. She had the concept of what she wanted but was simply unable to find the perfect invitations. So instead of settling for someone else’s idea of her ideal invitations, she decided to create her own.
Kelly loved creating her invitations, and everyone seemed to love her designs, so she began offering her services to friends and family. After completing a few small orders, the word of her beautiful work started to spread, and her phone started ringing with more requests. Now it wasn’t just friends and family, but their friends and family as well. In just a few short months, Kelly’s budding venture rapidly evolved into a small and thriving business.
In 2008, Kelly chose to leave her profession as a Speech-Language Pathologist and concentrate on her new-found career as a self-taught invitation/graphic designer and entrepreneur.
A Career Driven by Passion and Innovation
Kelly’s success can be attributed to her passion for what she does and the personal approach that she extends to every client. Kelly works directly with each client to ensure that every detail of their stationery fits their style and vision of the event. With that knowledge, the invitations and stationery are custom designed and assembled, with every detail taken into consideration. Kelly understands that the invitation sets the stage for the event, and she aims to bring the event to the guests even before they arrive. This is the reason why Kelly doesn’t ever use prefabricated books or pre-made templates. To Kelly, it’s personal, and the designs are as well.
Successful Growth and Expansion
Kelly has successfully led her stationery business through a period of rapid growth and expansion over the past ten years. It wasn’t long after establishing her business that Kelly’s talents and her uniquely innovative approach to design were realized by some of the wedding community’s biggest names. In 2012 she was approached by David Tutera to design four standout invitation suites for his hit show, “My Fair Wedding.” Since then, Kelly has collaborated on stationery suites for several celebrity events, including the wedding of Dancing with the Stars dance pro Lindsay Arnold and her fiancé Samuel Cusick. Today, RSVP to me offers a wide variety of handmade, custom-designed stationery solutions for all of life’s most significant moments, from weddings to birthdays, to first communions to bachelorette parties, to holidays and graduations.
Kelly’s innovation is limitless, as she has worked to establish RSVP to me as a trusted resource for her clients. In 2015, Kelly established Sweet by RSVP to me, which offers theme-designed, and hand-crafted candy buffets and dessert tables for weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and other special events, and in 2016, Kelly bolstered her custom greeting card offerings by debuting an online retail service offering customized decor, gifts, and accessories.
Today, Kelly balances her thriving business with dexterity along with her responsibilities as a wife, and mother of two, Reade and Remy. She spends her days making brides’ dreams come true, and her evenings supporting her children’s hockey and gymnastics dreams. Though her days are hectic, Kelly has never lost her passion or creativity, or her commitment to creating for each bride beautiful, unique stationery that is an integral part of her wedding day.
The class of 2019 40 Under 40 winners will be recognized at an event during the Las Vegas Market on Sunday, July 28.
